Frequently Asked Questions
Recommended output of speaker amplifier into ESL?
Question: What specifications should be met by an amplifier to pair it with the iESL Pro to properly drive electro-static headphones?
Answer: Recommended is 25W/4Ohm to 100W/8Ohm power.
This means, for example, an amplifier rated as 7W/16Ohm, like a 300B SE amplifier with a 16 Ohm loudspeaker output will be fine.
Equally, a solid-state amplifier with a 100W/8Ohm rating will be fine and pretty much anything in-between.
Amplifiers with much higher power may cause overloading and damage the headphones if the volume is raised too high.
